Project Description
Shadowbox Design Management completed a custom audio installation to enhance sound quality and clarity in a synagogue’s main sanctuary, improving the overall worship experience for the congregation. The project required a thoughtful balance of technical precision and architectural sensitivity, ensuring that all new equipment integrated seamlessly with the existing structure and design.
To achieve optimal sound coverage, the team installed eight custom speakers suspended from the overhead timber beams. Each speaker was mounted using custom brackets and enclosed in birch plywood exterior box surrounds, designed to blend harmoniously with the sanctuary’s ceiling architecture. This meticulous attention to detail preserved the sacred atmosphere of the space while introducing advanced audio performance.
In addition to the speaker installation, Shadowbox Design Management upgraded the AV equipment rack, replacing outdated amplifiers with high-efficiency models to ensure consistent, powerful, and crystal-clear sound throughout services and community gatherings.
The result is a seamless integration of form and function — a modern, high-quality audio system that enhances the spiritual and communal experience while respecting the synagogue’s aesthetic and cultural integrity.
