New York Public Library

Project Description

In collaboration with the New York Public Library, Shadowbox Design Management completed a comprehensive auditorium renovation project focused on upgrading theatrical and architectural lighting, drapery, and rigging systems. This modernization enhances the venue’s performance capabilities and supports the cultural and community-driven mission of the library.

A key part of the renovation was the transition from traditional incandescent fixtures to advanced LED lighting technology. This upgrade not only delivers significant energy savings and lower maintenance costs, but also improves lighting quality, flexibility, and sustainability — ensuring the space remains both efficient and visually engaging for years to come.

To achieve a versatile and professional lighting environment, Shadowbox Design Management installed Rogue RH Hybrid fixtures and COLORado Batten units around the auditorium’s stage. The Rogue fixtures’ powerful beam and spotlighting capabilities, combined with prism layering features, allow for dynamic and intricate stage lighting effects. These updates create a modern, adaptable lighting system that elevates the auditorium’s ambiance and enhances every performance or presentation.

By integrating cutting-edge technology with thoughtful design, Shadowbox Design Management successfully delivered a high-performance lighting solution that aligns with the New York Public Library’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and cultural excellence
